John has contributed policy strategies for public banking in Seattle, developed a vision for transit-oriented development in Detroit, and provided real estate advisory services for a non-profit hospital and public authority in New York City.
 
Prior to HR&A, John served as a bank examiner for the FDIC regulating commercial banks in New York City. John holds an MBA from the University of California-Berkeley and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Davidson College.
