NYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Economic Development Corporation (EDC) President Seth Pinsky, and Cultural Affairs Commissioner Kate Levin announced five new initiatives to support the City's non-profit arts sector in September, building upon the data and recommendations from HR&A's recent study of the non-profit arts sector, conducted on behalf of EDC. Initiatives include expanding the availability of free or affordable appropriate rehearsal space for performing arts groups across the City, and providing matching grants to two local clusters of arts organizations to expand marketing and incentives to draw Citywide audiences to those organizations.
