William J. Grinker recently retired as President and Chairman of the Board of Seedco Financial Services, Inc, a $200 million Community Development Financial Institution he created as a wholly owned subsidiary of Seedco, a community development intermediary he founded in 1986.
Mr. Grinker has a distinguished career in public service, having previously served as the Administrator/Commissioner of the New York City Human Resources and as a Commissioner on the New York City Planning Commission. Directly prior to assuming the presidency of Seedco, Mr. Grinker was a principal in Human Service Solutions, a consulting firm providing program development, management, and strategic planning services to governments, corporations, foundations and nonprofit organizations. Other positions Grinker has held include: Senior Program Officer, The Ford Foundation; Assistant Commissioner of the Community Development Agency of the City of New York; Assistant Director for Operations of the United Planning Organization of Washington, D.C.; and Staff Attorney for the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights and U.S. Department of Labor.
Mr. Grinker is a graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Wisconsin , Madison. He has taught courses at Princeton's Woodrow Wilson School and The New School and lectured at Harvard, Syracuse, NYU, CUNY, Keane, and Columbia.
